In this illustrated lecture, Katrin Rougeventre takes you to the heart of China's tea-growing regions, to discover fine vintages from gardens that are sometimes thousands of years old. She will discuss their preservation, their history, and also the environmental challenges they face today.
This presentation will address the role of tea in rural revitalization, a strategic program launched in 2013 by Xi Jinping, part of his broader "ecological civilization" policy.
Regions still marked by poverty see tea as an essential economic lever, but at what cost? And what are the prospects for the future?
