Song Dynasty Murmurs – Diǎn Chá & Chá Bǎi Xì
Dive into the refined world of Diǎn Chá (点茶), the ancient tea-whipping ritual inherited from the Song Dynasty, and discover the delicate Chá Bǎi Xì (茶百戏), the subtle art of drawing on tea foam—one might call it the "latte art" of classical Chinese tea.
During this immersive workshop led by Di Xiaoqian, a tea master from Sichuan, you will witness a lively demonstration of these forgotten gestures, followed by a tasting of the foam and the "tea soup."
Di Xiaoqian now teaches Chinese language and tea ceremony in Prague. Holding a Master's degree in International Chinese Language Teaching and nationally certified as a senior tea taster and tea art specialist, she gracefully embodies ancient traditions. Passionate about Song Dynasty tea culture, Chaozhou Gongfu Cha, and the Sichuan long-spout teapot ceremony, she brings these subtle arts back to life.
